Bergenfield’s Hometown Hero

It was announced in a January edition of the Twin-Boro Newspaper that U.S. Congresman Josh Gottheimer honored 8 local hometown heroes who have made outstanding contributions to the North Jersey community. The presentation was done on December 16, 2019 and held at Holy Name Hospital where Bergenfield's own hometown hero, firefighter and former fire chief, Jason Lanzilotti, was honored along with 7 others. All honorees received a plaque and special recognition. Lanzilotti was honored for his work during the Christmas holidays making sure underpriviledged children and needy families in town received gift cards, toys, and clothes so they were not without a present at this very special time of the year. Lanzilotti works with volunteers from the Bergenfield Fire Department and teachers from the Bergenfield School District who together have brought much happiness to the children and families in need.
The Bergenfield Fire Department would like to congratulate Jason on this well deserved honor!
