If any resident smells smoke, sees a fire, has an activation of their smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, smells gas, or needs the fire department for any reason, they are to immediately dial 9-1-1. Don't be afraid to call – YES, the fire department will respond to your call for help 24 hours a day. All members have been instructed how to take the necessary precautions needed to protect themselves.
The Chief stated regardless of the nature of the call, he asks the homeowner to advise the first responders if anyone in the home has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus, has been feeling ill, has traveled recently, or may have come in contact with people who have the virus so his firefighters can properly protect themselves.
