BFD Drills On Mackay Drive

Over the past week, members of the Bergenfield Fire Department were given the opportunity for some hands on training. A family on Mackay Drive is preparing to raze their single family home and replace it with a new one. They were kind enough to donate their existing home to the FD so that drills could be performed. Acquired structures like the one on Mackay Dr. are very valuable training tools for the BFD. This is also a great training opportunity for newer members that have limited exposure to fires in residential structures. Members were able to practice hose advancement to all floors, roof ventilation and wall breaching. The Officers and members of the Bergenfield Fire Department would like to thank the homeowner from Mackay Drive for the donation of their home. |
