BVFD Doesn't Waste Getting 2010 Started

 At 0005 hrs. Alert Fire Co. was dispatched on a reported activated fire alarm at 1 Murray Hill Terrace, a five story OMD. While in route the dispatch center reported multiple 9-1-1 calls of smoke on the third and fourth floors. Deputy Chief Kneisler requested the alarm be upgraded to a general.

Chief Byrnes had command and had the crews from ladder 742 and engine 745 investigate. Interior crews found smoke on the second floor from incense being burned. The crew from engine 743 assisted with ventilation and the RESCUE crew went to the basement to secure the alarm system. Units were clear in under 45 minutes.
