Wild Storm Moves Through Town

| At 22:22 hours on Tuesday evening, Bergenfield Fire Dispatch began to receive calls related to thunder storms and high wind that moved through town. Alert Fire Co. was dispatched to Graphic and Woods for a wire down. Upon arrival, 740 reported a primary line down on the ground on fire. Engine 744 remained with the wire for a few hours as it burned. PSE&G was contacted and it was added to their growing list. Fire Co. 2 took in an alarm at 46 Legion Drive while Prospect responded to Tommy Fox’s on activated alarms. While this was all going on, dispatch sent units to 14 Madison Ave for a reported house fire that was unfounded and then to 28 Murray Hill Terrace for a reported smell of smoke. All totaled, BFD units took in 7 calls in 90 minutes. |
