Manny Rivera, 43 of the Trenton Fire Department passed away on March 31, 2009 from his injuries sustained performing a heroic rescue at a house fire on February 9, 2009.   

At 2145 hrs, the Trenton FD responded to 110 Washington Street and found a three story residential structure with heavy smoke and flames showing.  Firefighter Rivera rescued a terrified trapped occupant from the third story. Shortly after the fire FF Rivera collapsed of an apparent heart attack and was rushed to St. Francis Medical Center. 

Firefighter Rivera is a 14 year Trenton Fire Department veteran and the married father of two. Funeral details are still pending.
