At 1252 hrs, Prospect Fire Co. was dispatched on a still alarm for an order of gas in the street in front of 326 New Bridge Road.  Chief Byrnes was in command of the incident and shortly after his arrival the call was upgraded to a general alarm.  Residents within 200 yards in all directions were evacuated.  PSE&G sent out a road crew and they began to search for the source of the leak.  Once the leak was located PSE & G began to dig to make the necessary repairs. 

Chief Byrnes wanted to extend the departments thanks to the BPD, BVAC and OEM who remained on scene until released. Chief Byrnes also wants to thank Bergen County Haz Mat and the Dumont FD for their assistance.  Units cleared the scene after five hours.
