2009 Officers Sworn In

Robert E. Byrnes, Jr. of Prospect Fire Co. No.1 was sworn in as Chief of the Department at a ceremony today in the council chambers at Borough Hall. . Along with Chief Byrnes, Edward Kneisler II of Alert Fire Company No. 1 and Norman Hoyt, Sr. of Bergenfield Fire Co. No. 2 were sworn in as Deputy 1 and 2 respectively. Captains, Jim Lodato, Michael Lopez, and Jason Lanzilotti along with Lieutenants Andrew McGoldrick, Chris Saito and Norman Hoyt, Jr. were sworn in as well.

With his swearing in today, Chief Robert E. Byrnes, Jr. becomes only the 4^th set of Father and Sons to serve as Chief of the Department. His Father Robert E, Byrnes, Sr. served as Chief of the Department in 1981 out of Bergenfield Fire Company No. 2.

We wish Chief Byrnes and all of his officers the best in 2009.
