At approximately 2015 hrs, the Bergenfield FD was dispatched on a general alarm to 36 Sergeant Court for a report of smoke in the house. Chief Gomez was first on scene and Deputy Chief Byrnes was the first to enter the structure and reported a smoke condition present.  Engine 745 was first due and secured a water source and stretched a dry line into the house.  The engine crew found a fire in contained to the oven.  As additional units arrived the utilities were secured and the home was vented of the smoke.  The fire department was clear of the scene in less than 60 minutes.
