The Bergenfield Fire Department and FMBA Local 65 welcomed Marlon Sahai as the newest member of the career staff at a ceremony on Monday afternoon, March 10, 2008. He was sworn in by Fire Commissioner Thomas A. Lodato.

  Mr. Sahai is from Ridgefield, NJ and he served in the Air Force from 2002 – 2006.  His highest rank attained was Senior Airman E-4. He received the Ace Award for firefighter of the quarter in 2004, Good Conduct Medal in 2005 and the Air Force Achievement Medal.  He attained various firefighter courses during his time in the Air Force including Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HazMat Awareness and Operations, Pump Operator and ARFF firefighting.

  Marlon was surrounded by his family and other members of the Bergenfield Fire Department during the ceremony. He is the 16^th career firefighter in the history of the BFD.  The Officers and members of the Bergenfield Fire Department and Local 65 would like to wish Marlon the best of luck.
