Reported Attic Fire

| On Monday night at 19:40 hrs, the Bergenfield FD was dispatched on a general alarm to 95 W. Clinton Avenue on a reported attic fire. Captain Kneisler of Alert was responding to his firehouse when the screaming and frantic homeowner flagged him down. He entered the house and made his way to the attic and reported the attic fan motor was on fire. Chief Polandick arrived on scene and established command and sent the first due engine, 745, into the attic to assess the situation. The utilities to the home were secured and the fan was removed from the unit. There was no extension to the home and the smoke was vented. Units were clear of the scene in 45 minutes. |
