The Bergenfield Fire Department would like to welcome Sajiith Cherian and Joseph Frino, Jr. as new members. They have both joined Bergenfield Fire Company No. 2 as probationary members. Their probationary period will run a minimum of six months.

Sajiith is a member of the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Joe has served as a volunteer firefighter in Lodi, NJ.  We wish them the best.

On Friday night when the storm rolled through the members of the Bergenfield Fire Department were very busy. The wind and rain toppled trees into houses and on top of cars. Wires came down and were burning in the roadways. The BFD responded to 18 calls in less then 2 hrs.

At approximately 17:45 hrs, Engine 743 and Deputy 1 responded to Dumont’s Company 1 firehouse to cover the town while the DFD was engaged in a house fire on First Street. They were released within 45 minutes.

The Bergenfield Fire Department would like to congratulate our most recent graduates from the Bergen County Fire Academy. The graduation ceremony took place at Ramapo College in Mahwah on August 25th.  Congratulations to Steven Naylis and Michael Mertz for their successful completion of the Firefighter 1 course.
