At 16:49 hrs, the Bergenfield FD was dispatched on a general alarm assignment for a reported truck fire near a residential structure. DC 2 (Byrnes) was first on scene and reported a fully involved Ford truck in the driveway of 134 E. Main Street. Engine 745 was first due and FF's Chris Naylis and Rich O'Connor stretched an 1½ pre-connect attack line and extinguished the fire. The Ladder crew worked with the Engine crew to pop the hood and doors on the truck while the crews from 2nd due engine, 743, and RESCUE 746 entered the home and checked for extension. Chief Polandick had command of the incident.
The fire was contained to the vehicle with no extension to the home's interior or exterior. Units were clear of the scene in 60 minutes and the initial investigation of the cause of the fire seems to be mechanical.

On Friday night the Bergen County Fire Academy held a graduation ceremony at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey. The ceremony was for firefighters who successfully completed and passed Firefighter I from across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties. The families of the graduates were in attendance as well as several county officials. Bergenfield had several members successfully complete the program: from Alert Fire Co. #1-Edward J. Kneisler III and Andres Nunez; from Fire Co. #2-Crystal Putney; and from Prospect Fire Co. #1-David Tedesco. Firefighters Putney and Tedesco were unable to attend, but were acknowledged for completing the course. The presenter for Bergenfield was Captain Edward J. Kneisler II, who along with his father Edward J. Kneisler Jr., presented Edward J. Kneisler III and Andres Nunez their certificates. It was a special moment for the Kneislers as all three generations of firefighters were on the stage showing their family's dedicated service to the Borough of Bergenfield. Congratulations to all.

On Sunday morning at 10:13 hrs, the members of Alert Fire Company No. 1 were dispatched on a still alarm to 65 Levitt Avenue for a person stuck on the roof. The police department received a call from a male who was unable to get down from the roof because it was too slick with frost. When Chief Polandick (740) arrived on scene, he reported to Truck 742 that the male was perched on the peak of the roof near the chimney, and that the mechanical ladder would be needed to remove him. Portable 4, Captain Kneisler, and a crew of three arrived on scene and put the stick to work. Firefighter Knapp ascended the aerial to the male and then assisted him safely to the ground. All units took up in about ten minutes.
